🇬🇧​ Welcome! This is the website of the Royal Netherlands Astronomical Society, RNAS. The RNAS is the professional organization of astronomers and space researchers in the Netherlands and Flanders. The Society was founded on October 5, 1918. At the occasion of its centenary in 2018, the Society received Royal status.

The goals of the RNAS, as written in its statues are to: "promote astronomy in The Netherlands and in Belgium, including in elementary and secondary education, and maintain and stimulate contacts with, and between, astronomers, both inside and outside of the profession."

🇳🇱​ Welkom op de website van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Astronomenclub, KNA. De KNA is de vakvereniging van astronomen en ruimte-onderzoekers in Nederland en Vlaanderen. De vereniging is op 5 oktober 1918 opgericht. Bij Koninklijk Besluit van 26 november 2018 heeft zij in het jaar van het eeuwfeest het predicaat Koninklijk gekregen.

In de KNA statuten staan de doelen van de vakvereniging als volgt gedefinieerd: "het bevorderen van de sterrenkunde in Nederland en in België, waaronder in het (basis- en voortgezet) onderwijs, en het onderhouden en stimuleren van contacten met en tussen astronomen binnen en buiten het vak."

Current Annual Membership Fees:

Proposed in the Annual Members Meeting May 2024, and approved during the Special Members Meeting Autumn 2024

*Overseas members residing in countries not covered by SEPA/IBAN will be billed the Direct Debit rate

From 2026, annual fees will be due by the end of March, or upon joining. Annual fees are waived for the remaining months of the year for members who join after 1 June (or after the NAC conference whichever is later) in a particular year. This does not apply to people who paid the Member rate for NAC registration stating their intention to join.
