Governance
The RNAS is governed by its board, that consists of an executive board (chair, treasurer, secretary) and assessors representing the astronomical institutes in the Netherlands and Flanders. The aim is to have representation of each astronomical institute at the board.
With intense sadness we learned of the loss of our colleague and friend, professor Ralph Wijers. Ralph has always been very active in the KNA-RNAS, first as a member and very welcome colleague at many NACs, and since over ten years also as fellow KNA-RNAS board member. His role here was not only borne out by his enthusiasm, care, and expertise, but also his attention for people - in particular students and young scientists - and his guidance based on integrity and his sense of justice. We will miss him greatly. We send our condolences to his wife Astrid, his daughters Nastasha and Naomi, and all those dear to him. Please find here an In Memoriam by the Anton Pannekoek Institute.
The KNA-RNAS Board
We zijn verslagen en verdrietig door het verlies van onze collega en vriend, professor Ralph Wijers. Ralph was altijd zeer actief in de KNA, eerst als lid en graag geziene collega op vele NACs, en vanaf ruim tien jaar geleden ook als mede-bestuurslid van de KNA. Zijn rol hier kenmerkte zich niet alleen door zijn enthousiasme, warmte en expertise, maar ook zijn aandacht voor mensen - met name studenten en jonge wetenschappers - en zijn sturing gebaseerd op integriteit en rechtvaardigheid. We zullen hem zeer missen. We wensen zijn vrouw Astrid, dochters Nastasha en Naomi, en al zijn naasten veel sterkte. We verwijzen graag naar een In Memoriam van het Anton Pannekoek Instituut.
