Membership

For the purposes of membership our members have some connection to the Netherlands or Flanders and meet any of the below criteria:
- Student Membership: a BSc student at the end of the 2nd year or beyond, an MSc student, or a PhD student, who is Dutch or Flemish or in the Netherlands or Belgium. (the study may be in a related field with an astronomy concentration, e.g. Physics and Astrophysics, Astrochemistry, Astrobiology, and related fields of Engineering, Technology and Mathematics)
- Full Membership: (1) A PhD in astronomy from one of the above from a Dutch or Flemish Astronomical Institute or who works in one of those; (2) any other scientists, engineers, technologists, or others who's professional work contributes to the advancement of Dutch and Flemish Astronomy; (3) Anyone who would have qualified for student membership, but is no longer otherwise qualified; (4) Anyone who previously qualified for categories 1-3 and was a member during the time that they would have qualified.
- Emeritus Membership: Anyone who is officially retired from work, and either was previously a full or student member, or who now resides in the Netherlands or Flanders and could, in their past, have qualified as a student or full member.
- Life Membership is available for Full Members or Student Members at 20 times the annual fee. Emeritus Life Membership is available to Emeritus Members, or on the occasion of ones' retirement for ten times the annual fee.
